Chambres d'hôtes du Manoir de Blanche Roche

The bed was comfortable, but there were no shutters or blackout curtains, and the window faced the bed. The toothbrush cups were dirty and full of toothpaste, and one of the two sinks was dirty too. Breakfast tea was barely lukewarm, and getting there meant crossing an ugly area. You need a car to go out for dinner. The house itself is pretty, with large outdoor spaces, but the rest fell short. For the price, I think you can find better accommodation elsewhere. I don’t understand why the tourist office lists this place.

For €115, this was shameful. The old studio had no toilet paper or soap, a mattress that sagged like a basin, threadbare towels, barely any dishes, and a faulty TNT antenna connection. The bathroom mirror fell down. The studios sit side by side with no privacy.

We were three couples and luckily stayed only one night. The garden was poorly maintained and looked nothing like the photos, so it wasn’t pleasant to spend time in. It’s also near a main road. Inside, there was dust and cobwebs everywhere, plus a musty smell, like Halloween decorations. The toilet cistern needs replacing, the faucets are old and worn, and the bedroom door lock doesn’t close properly and needs changing. Truly disappointing and misleading. I don’t recommend it, unless you’re after an experience in an old period manor house.

The owner was welcoming, but the room quality was poor for more than 100 euros: dust, dirty wallpaper, a smelly bathroom, and run-down toys for children. If you rent out a place, you have a responsibility to maintain it, or you should charge less.
