Château de Vaulx

The area around Chateau de Vaulx is wonderfully quiet, away from the wine tourism trail, so there aren’t many tourists nearby. It’s a good place to settle in and relax. We liked our stay so much a couple of years ago that we came back for a week this summer. The grounds are lovely for walks with the dog, the kids could spend all day in the pool, and we found plenty of shaded spots to sit and read. The rooms were comfortable, and Barry was a delightful host.

Barry was a lovely host and did everything he could for us. He even pointed us to an excellent restaurant for dinner. The rooms are beautiful, dog friendly, and full of stunning interiors and features.

The rooms are all different, with a bit of quirky character, and the Chateau itself is stunning. Marty is the perfect host, always ready to help. We first booked Chateau de Vaulx as a stop on the way to Italy and back, but now it’s become a regular part of our holiday. Rick Stein was very impressed with “our” Marty while filming the Secret France series. I’m almost sorry to share this, since it might get too popular and make it harder to book. The best kept secret is out now!

Marty, the owner, is a splendid host, and I just love this place. It’s beautiful, relaxing, and fantastic in every way.
