Brit Hotel Confort Saint-Lô

Once inside, the hotel was much nicer than its plain exterior suggested. We got a warm welcome and an upgrade to a clean Comfort Room with a comfortable bed, soft towels, Wi-Fi, a fridge, kettle, and a good-quality TV. It was good value and a handy place to stop while travelling to or from Cherbourg. We were there on a bank holiday, so nothing was open, though other facilities are nearby.

The location worked really well for us, right beside our favourite Italian restaurant and close to a supermarket, Macdonald's, a music shop, an organic health shop, and the motorway. There’s a large secure car park, too. Our modern room was clean, with a comfortable bed, mini fridge, and a lovely bathroom with a wet room shower. The receptionist was very helpful. Breakfast looked good at 12 euros, but we skipped it because continental breakfasts aren’t our thing. The TV was a decent size but had no English channels. The coffee cups are paper and very small, so bring your own china mug.

The rooms are much more spacious than in the other three-star hotels we’ve stayed at, and the bedding is good quality. There’s a fitness room, a nice restaurant, and a bar as well. I’d recommend it as a five-star experience, even though it’s officially a three-star hotel.

The location is quite nice, but the rooms aren’t cleaned every day and the door card fails almost daily. They don’t speak English at all. Wouldn’t recommend it.
