The one good thing was that the receptionist was nice. Otherwise, this wasn’t a pleasant place to stay. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel, with thin walls, noise at all hours, and a cigarette smell. The airport is a 20-25 minute walk away. I wouldn’t recommend it.

When we happened to have a mostly empty wing to ourselves, we slept better, but that wasn’t usually the case. Generally, it felt like a cheap motel: thin walls, hard floors, and noise from the hallways and neighbors. Some rooms also get highway noise and flights from BSL.

We booked two rooms for five of us, including three children under 10, and felt very unsafe. We’d requested a baby crib for our infant, but were told at the last minute that it was broken. The rooms weren’t especially clean, and the floor was sticky enough that I kept my shoes on. One room had two dead wasps, including one on the bed. The reception was closed from 10 pm to 6 am, as the actual receptionist had told me when we arrived. But at 1 am a man posing as the receptionist knocked to ask when we were checking out so he could prepare the room for someone else if we were leaving early. He came back at 3 am with a broom, pretending to be cleaning staff. There were two vending machines, one of them broken. We managed to get a couple of bottles of water from the other one, since the hotel's water isn’t drinkable. I tried calling a cab around 1-2 am, but none were available nearby, and I couldn’t reach either of the two main companies operating in St Louis la Chaussée by phone. The location may look good on paper, but if you don’t want to walk 20 minutes to the airport at night through a sketchy neighborhood and can’t get a cab when you need one, I’d advise against staying here.

An easy check-in, free parking, decent rooms, and good showers made this a good place to sleep before an early flight. The airport is about a 15-20 minute walk away.
