The hosts are so relaxed and generous, and their imaginative little offerings, from plate juggling to roasting marshmallows, made the stay memorable. The old farmstead feels idyllic and romantic.

Villa 12 has a welcoming, laid-back feel, with dogs, a cat, and goats around the grounds. The owners are lovely, friendly, and helpful, and you almost feel as if you're visiting friends. Thanks to them again. Even a short stay here feels like a little holiday. The six rooms are all creatively and individually decorated, far from sterile or dull. It's a beautiful Art Nouveau villa, though the shared bathrooms on each floor may not suit everyone. Anyone expecting a hotel or guesthouse could be disappointed. It's a place for individualists and people who appreciate the finer things, so it won't be for everyone. I'd love to return. Children are welcome, and German, English, and French are spoken.

We came back to the villa with our child for a second stay, and it was just as welcoming. Everything was clean, and the rooms are tastefully furnished with a lovely family feel. It's a welcome change from hotels that can often be unpleasant, and the value for money is excellent. The large garden is a great place to relax, and the spacious kitchens are really practical. Raphi and Michelle are the icing on the cake as hosts. You feel right at home, and the tram connection to Basel is very good. See you soon!
