Hôtel de la Cité

The windows on the 5th/6th floors gave us a beautiful view. We had a spacious suite spread over two floors, with comfortable beds, a good-sized shower and a well-equipped kitchen. The hotel is very conveniently located, with parking and easy access to the old Cité.

Another receptionist was lovely and kindly let us keep our bikes in the garage, which we really appreciated. The night guard was lovely too. The bed was comfortable and the shower superb, and the hotel is well situated. But the floor and carpet were disgustingly dirty, one receptionist was very cold, and there was a bad-drain smell throughout. We wanted a room where we could relax, and this wasn't it, so we cancelled the rest of our stay and found somewhere else. It was a mixed bag, but not what we needed for a rare, special family visit.

We spent the night in room 220, where the air conditioning leaked from the ceiling near the lights. The carpet was soaked, and with no other rooms available, we were given a bucket to catch the water. It dripped all night. The receptionist said they'd contact us the next day about compensation, but they didn't. We got in touch ourselves a few days later and were again told someone would contact us, though they were very busy. We never heard back. Avoid this hotel. If you do stay, don't expect much help or a reply to your emails, apparently they're too busy.

The staff were really friendly, and my room was bright, clean and had all the necessary amenities. The hotel is in a great location. A very nice stay.
