Hôtel Le Nouveau Monde

We were able to walk easily to both the old town and the port. Our room was modern, very clean, and finished to a high standard, with a balcony and a view of the port without paying extra for a sea view. Sebastian gave us a warm welcome, and the service was good. The restaurant team worked hard at breakfast, which had plenty of good choices. I’d recommend it.

The hotel has a lot going for it: a great location, roomy rooms with comfortable beds, live music in the lounge at cocktail hour, and an expansive, first-class breakfast buffet. Still, I can’t rate it higher after our stay. The air conditioning in our room didn’t work, and they couldn’t send an engineer for more than a day. We slept with the windows open, which meant street noise and light coming into the room. The woman at the front desk wasn’t helpful and said she couldn’t credit the stay without her manager’s approval. That was unacceptable and really disappointing for a Marriott property.

We’ll be glad to come back to Le Nouveau Monde for future anniversaries. We stayed three nights with family and friends while our marriage and reception took place nearby, and the manager and staff made our group feel very welcome. They had our rooms ready early and took the time to get to know everyone. The sentimental notes and gifts they left in our room were a lovely personal touch. The breakfast was exceptional, and all our guests enjoyed the hotel, its location, and the beautiful view. We also held a welcome aperitif at Le Comptoir bar the night before, with food and wine, and it was a fantastic setting with excellent food. We’re very grateful for the team’s kindness, hospitality, and professionalism.

My mother loved every minute and already wants to return. I’d visited Saint Malo before, but this was our first trip there together. A friend who lives in cancale recommended the hotel, and it lived up to that recommendation. We stayed in July and had an amazing time. Our room faced the water and was very nice and comfy. The hotel’s pool is great and easy to access for people with disabilities. I enjoyed having regional products at breakfast, which is a must when visiting somewhere new. It’s a beautiful hotel just a few minutes’ walk from downtown. We loved it and will definitely go back.
