Malouinire Le Valmarin

We spent a lovely evening walking by the different ports, just a short stroll from the hotel. Even though it’s right in the centre, it was incredibly quiet. The building and grounds are kept in perfect shape, and you can tell a lot of care goes into the place. The staff were so friendly, the room was beautiful, and breakfast was wonderful. It felt like the kind of warm hospitality you hope to find. I’d happily stay again.

There’s a lot of history in the house, and it’s well documented. It’s privately owned, with helpful, friendly staff. The garden is a calm place to sit, and the rooms are huge, comfortable, and have everything you need. The town and harbour are only a few minutes away on foot, while the St Malo ferry is less than a 10 minute drive.

The rooms are spacious, quiet, and elegant, with that old-fashioned charm in the best way. Service feels very personal, and the hotel has a lovely park. Saint Servan is much calmer than the rest of St Malo, with Solidor and smaller, quieter beaches just down the road. There are also quaint cafes and restaurants with plenty of food choices. It’s handy for the Brittany Ferries terminal, and you can walk to Intra Muros, which made it a great place to stay after our Channel Islands trip. We loved the romantic feel and would come back.

I’ve been coming here since I was a young boy, more than 50 years now, and this was another fantastic stay in St.Servan. It’s one of my favourite hotels in France, with lovely people and a fantastic location. The bay is only five minutes away, with fabulous restaurants and bars.
