The peaceful grounds, with all the animals around, made us feel looked after and able to properly unwind. The rooms were comfortable, and the welcome was genuinely warm. Staying in a real manor house felt like a dream. There are a few small insulation or dampness issues, as you might expect in an old building, but nothing unpleasant or out of the ordinary. Plenty of modern hotel chains take much less care with those things.

We slept well in the comfortable bed, and breakfast was superb. With the animals around and the calm atmosphere, it’s an easy place to relax. The castle is magnificent and the welcome was excellent. I’d recommend the experience whether you’re just passing through or staying longer.

The huge park has horses, kangaroos, and deer, and there’s a large swimming pool too. We were met with such a warm, attentive welcome. If you’re into nature, open space, and homes with character, this place is for you. We had an unforgettable stay. Everything was spot on.

The view of the old oak hedge is lovely, and turning around to find a ten-point stag looking down at you is quite a sight. Inside, the restored woodwork is beautiful, with a faint beeswax smell. The house has a real charm to it. Put your ear to the wood and you might even hear horse hooves, perhaps an ancestor of the owner coming to say hello. If paradise exists, this place can’t be far from it.
