Hotel Omnubo Collection

The reception and restaurant staff were polite and very professional. Hotel Omnubo Collections has a lovely, clean setting, with pretty natural-style decor. It sits in the French countryside, with wonderful views.

The room was well beyond what I expected from a three-star hotel, and dinner that night was unlike any we've had before. We spent two nights at Hotel Omnubo, and they were the best hotel stay we've ever had. From the road, I wasn't sure what I'd booked, since it looked like the strangest hotel I'd seen. Then the receptionist greeted us so warmly, and the bright, comfortable lobby had a quirky feel that I loved. Every staff member we met was top class, especially the ladies at reception, who were faultless. The whole place felt five-star.

The breakfast had a really good selection, and dinner at the restaurant was very good too. We stayed two nights as a family of four in a family room with a balcony while visiting Puy du Foy. The hotel is well placed for it, less than 10 minutes from the car park, and there's secure parking on site. The room had everything we needed, though it was a bit small. Downstairs was tastefully decorated, with some nice details for the kids. The staff were great, and the hotel has a boutique feel. A little random, but there's a small park opposite with goats, nice to stroll over and see them.

We enjoyed our stay, and the hotel is very close to Puy Du Fou. The booking setup was frustrating, though. We chose two nights for two adults and our 10-year-old, but the final booking had changed to two rooms for one night. Given the choice, I would have picked another hotel with room for a sofa bed. For two people this place is fine, but I wouldn't pay for two rooms again for three.
