Résidence Capitaine Paoli

The accommodation was very comfortable, with a nicely sized bathroom, and the staff were lovely and helpful. It's handy for the metro, and the hotel can keep your luggage for you. The only downside for us was the later check-in than at most places we've stayed. We landed early in the morning after two 12-hour flights, so had to wander around for hours before we could get into our room.

This is a nice little hotel, close enough to walk to Gare du Nord. My room faced the back of the recently refurbished building, so it was quiet. It was clean, and the staff were nice and spoke English. The one downside was a smell coming from the wash basin.

The staff were warm and friendly, and the bed and bathroom were clean. The rest of the room was a letdown: the carpets, curtains and walls were dirty, and it looked nothing like the photos. We only stayed because the booking couldn't be refunded and the clean bed and bathroom made it manageable.

The rooms felt both roomy and cozy, and the staff were polite, capable, and spoke good English. Getting around was easy too: the metro is about a five-minute walk away, and two stops on line 6 take you to Gare du Nord. Breakfast coffee was the one small letdown. Otherwise, everything was in its place, and I was very happy with the stay.
