Adagio Access Grenoble Université

We were extremely disappointed by this experience and had to find another hotel at the very last minute, after a long full-day drive, with two tired small children. We had asked about changing to a room where we could stay together with our children, but the hotel did not accommodate our questions or requests. Communication was extremely bad: they did not respond to either of my emails, sent several weeks before arrival and again one day before. An administrator promised a refund, but the manager later denied that by email, which was false. The message was in French, even though I had asked my questions in English. Traveling with a family, don't consider this hotel: the environment was unfriendly and arrogant, and it seemed extremely unsuitable for children. It was a very negative experience, once in a lifetime for me.

The location made getting around easy: the tram stop is right next to the hotel, the University is only 4 minutes away, and Grenoble's beautiful city centre is less than half an hour away. Supermarkets and restaurants are conveniently close as well. We stayed at THE ORIGINALS Hotel Saint-Martin-d'Hères for several days and were very satisfied. The room was great, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.

Save your money and stay somewhere else unless you want to pay to suffer. Our night was dirty and stifling, and I honestly can't understand the positive reviews. The hallways were grimy, with worn carpets, but we decided to give the room a chance. My parents and I had asked for a room for three, but the sofa bed wasn't made up. That wasn't a big deal since our stay was spontaneous. A man came, apologized, opened it, and left. Then we found thick black hairs and odd black bits all over the sofa bed's sheets and pillowcases, plus a sheet stained with blood. I've stayed in many hotels and never seen such filth for 100 euros. It made me want to vom**. The heat was unbearable, making the room impossible to stay in, like torture. Reviews said the issue had been fixed, but that was a lie. There was only a ceiling fan, and when we turned it on, huge dust bunnies covered the bed. I couldn't sleep all night. My heart raced in the heat, I felt every heartbeat, my body was burning, and it was hard to breathe. We couldn't leave the window open because it faced a concrete corridor where someone could easily sneak in. That wasn't a viable option, especially since a car had been broken into in the hotel parking lot and nearby area just a week earlier. At 10:30 the next morning, a very rude, disrespectful woman, completely full of sweat, knocked brusquely and repeatedly, wanting to enter and clean. I said reception had clearly told us check-out was at 12. She gave me a very dirty look and left. They deactivated our key cards so we couldn't get back into the room. At 11:30, the man at reception knocked and said we had to leave because check-out was at 11, contradicting what we were told the day before.

The rooms were spacious and close to the university and public transport. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was relatively okay. In summer, keep in mind there's no air conditioning. The outside temperature had dropped by the time we arrived, but after a few weeks of summer heat, our room was still sweltering and very unpleasant. Housekeeping didn't come by even once during our 5-night stay, so the room wasn't cleaned. I ran out of basics like toilet paper and had to go down to reception to ask for more.
