Hôtel de Toiras

The hotel is right on the town seafront, and the interior is nicely decorated, though the lighting feels harsh. Service was uneven. They sent us the wrong code for the restricted entry bollard in the welcome email, so we had a queue of irritated locals behind us while we called for the right one. For parking in front of the hotel, it’s worth buying a €13 per night forfait through the parking app. Then you can come and go without waiting for the valet to bring your car around.

We spent a long weekend here with our two-month-old. The room was fantastic, and the location was great. The staff were especially helpful and accommodating with the things we needed for the baby, including a late checkout. We hope to come back.

Dinner at George's was amazing, and watching the sunset from the terrace above the port was a special moment. The hotel is in the best spot on the island, and the staff were warm, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile. Nothing went wrong during our two-night stay. Highly recommend it.

We left feeling like we’d been had, and that put us off coming back, especially since there are other places to choose from. When we booked by phone, we thought the hotel was full, so we took its best available room. It turned out we were the only guests and could have booked a regular deluxe room instead. The menu lists sole for two at €180. That’s two fish, and the price struck me as outrageous. The bathroom opens straight into the bedroom, with hardly any division between the bedroom and shower or tub, which felt odd. The ceiling is low too, so mind your head when opening the shutters. The hotel is nice enough, but the experience left me with a bad feeling.
