Le Clos Bel Air

The location looked ideal, but the service was really poor and they skimped on basics like a coffee maker and oven. For what it costs, I've stayed in much better places. It's hard to imagine finding worse. AVOID.

A spacious, cozy apartment with a kitchen and everything we needed. It's in a picturesque village near the highway, making it an ideal overnight stop when traveling by car.

We arrived on November 1st at 6:30 PM and found the patio door open about 10 centimetres, after rain all day. The electric heating, just one small radiator for two floors, wasn't working, and the temperature had never risen above 10 degrees Celsius. The apartment was at 10 degrees, and the bedding, sofa and cushions were damp. We called the owner right away, but they refused to listen. We left Clos Bel Air and put the keys back where we had found them, on the coffee table, since nobody was there to check us in. We confirmed our departure through Booking.com at 7:23 PM. That's when the nightmare really started. The owners harassed us and wouldn't acknowledge the property's unsanitary conditions. They charged us €450 even though they re-let the property, and also charged tourist tax despite us not spending a single night there or being able to verify our identity with the tourist office. The owner even accused us of keeping the keys. We were there for three-quarters of an hour, enough to judge the accommodation as very low quality. We can't comment on the bedding itself. Book at Clos Bel Air at your own risk. The owners seem to care only about profit. If you do stay, ask for an invoice and your credit card receipt when you leave. You'll be surprised to see that the payment wasn't processed in the name of Clos Bel Air. Take the hint and trust your instincts. My advice is to run away!

The place was very good, clean, and had a really comfortable bed. Such a shame that the shower is in the bedroom with no partition. Getting out of the property onto the main road is dangerous.
