B&B HOTEL Saint-Michel-sur-Orge

The rooms are very small, as you'd expect from a basic roadside hotel meant for sleeping overnight rather than hanging around in during the day. Both vending machines, for hot and cold drinks and snacks, only take coins. A card option would help since people don't carry much cash these days. Smoking isn't allowed inside now, but the old cigarette smell still clings to the room walls, so it may not suit someone sensitive to smoke. Still, it was a good stay overall.

We paid a good price for what we got. The room was fine for one night, with air conditioning, and the bathroom was simple but okay. Breakfast was basic and more than adequate. The reception staff were friendly. Parking spaces are very small, but after looking around and trying a few times, we managed to fit our small van.

The rooms themselves are okay, but the doors slam so hard you can hear and feel them. Trying to work in the morning was also difficult: the housekeepers talked loudly all along the hallway. They could chat before or after work, or during a break, but the noise throughout the corridor felt unprofessional. On a call, my boss even asked if I was sleeping in a train station because of the background noise.

You book, get a code, and use it to check in and open the room. I didn't see a staff member until morning, but the setup worked for me. It was cheap and breakfast was included. Nothing luxurious, though that wasn't what I needed for that location and price. For the money, it was very acceptable.
