La Vigne Des Heures Claires

The rooms were very clean and breakfast was lovely, but we sadly didn't get the stay we had hoped for. Our night was mostly spent trying to get a draft going with two fans and taking cold showers to cope with the heat. We got very little sleep. The room was uncomfortably hot, with nowhere to escape the heat. Our host can't control the weather, but could have anticipated how hot the room would be and provided a portable air conditioner, or chosen not to rent it in those conditions. Renting it to a family who had no way to know how hot it would be until arrival felt questionable. We arrived at 2pm on our bicycles in scorching August heat, earlier than expected. We were told the room wasn't ready and to return at 4pm, which seemed fair enough. We waited nearby, but everything was shut for the afternoon and we were stuck in the heat. As 4pm approached, we were told to come back at 5pm instead. The departure was disappointing too. We sat down for breakfast early at 8am, hoping to return to our now cool room and get a few hours' sleep before checkout. At about 8:15, during breakfast, we were told we had to leave by 9am because our host had commitments elsewhere. It leaves me wondering why he accepted our booking when he knew the room would be so hot and that we had to leave by 9 in the morning.
