Brit Hotel St Nazaire Centre Gare

I picked Brit Hotel mainly for the location, and the price suited me too. The staff were charming, and the room was clean and well cared for. It was quite cramped, though. The bed seemed oversized for the room, leaving barely any space to walk around it, and the desk and chair squeezed in beside it took up more room for walking and luggage. It’s near the train and bus stations, restaurants, and about a 25-minute walk from the beachfront.

I liked St Nazaire for its WW2 history, and the hotel worked well for us since we were travelling on a Leger battle tour bus. Getting there may be confusing, as it's beside a bus station and the roads are awkward to navigate. The rooms are extremely small, which was my main downside. There’s a restaurant bar connected through a door, though, and it was very good for a beer and a bite to eat. Magic.

I spent a couple of nights here before joining a ship, and came away with only good impressions. The room was comfortable, breakfast was quite good, and the reception staff were pleasant and always ready to help. Thanks very much for the service. I hope I get to stay here again someday. The receptionist who welcomed us was amazing. Check-in went smoothly, and she patiently answered all our questions, explained the hotel's facilities and useful nearby information, including breakfast hours, and suggested places to visit. We forgot her name, but wanted to thank her. The hotel is right beside the bus interchange. For drivers, parking can be difficult: the nearest car park requires a walk and spaces depend on availability. Our room was small but fine for one night, and the shower had such good water pressure that we could live with its tight space. Breakfast was standard, with hot drinks, juice, bread, eggs, sausages, fruit and yoghurt. The cakes made by the night staff were tasty. The limited parking, small shower, and general hotel maintenance kept it one star short of perfect.
