Ibis Budget Saint Nazaire Centre Gare

The staff were outstanding. We had our tandem with us and were worried about leaving it overnight, since it wouldn’t fit in the lift to our room. The manager was happy to keep it in their office instead. There’s also free chilled and sparkling water from a fountain at reception. We stayed the night before taking the train to Orleans to finish the Loire a Velo. The hotel is right at the station entrance, and our room was clean and very comfortable. A great place to stay.

Having a bike parking area in the garage felt reassuring, and the room and bed were good quality. I arrived late and only stayed one night. The staff were nice, but the express breakfast was disappointing: for 7.5 euros it’s advertised with drinks and baked goods, yet you get just one croissant or pain au chocolate, one coffee and one juice. Since baked goods cost so little at bakeries, I don’t understand the one-item limit. The shower pressure was weak, with much of the water leaking from the handheld faucet. I also noticed cracks in the ceiling, even though the place looks new.

We had dinner and breakfast during our one-night stay, and the food was good both times, from the patisserie to the English breakfast. The airy, clean bedrooms had plenty of charging points. The hotel team was always around to help when needed. Excellent from start to finish.

I was here for work for more than a few days, and the staff took such good care of us. They were very kind, always smiling, and helpful whenever we needed anything. Dinner and breakfast were served well, too. It was a real pleasure staying here, and I’d definitely recommend the place for its position and kind staff.
