L'Orée du Bois Bourgogne - Adults Only

We visited in October 2023 and would happily come back. Corine was attentive, and the rooms were clean with lovely surroundings. Each morning started with fresh croissants and baguette for breakfast. We also got a great dinner recommendation, and Corine even booked the restaurant for us. Such a wonderful stay.

The garden and pool were lovely, and it was nice that our dog could play there with the owner's dog. It's a quiet, beautiful spot near Beaune. The bathroom was pretty clean, though there were lots of spiderwebs in the room. I've rarely seen a hyper-clean place in France, so I can overlook that. The pool was refreshing, and breakfast was okay, although the bees made it hard to enjoy much of it. I didn't feel fully relaxed or welcomed, since the place seemed to belong very much to the owners. For example, there was shower gel in our room when we arrived, but it had been taken away by the time we returned that evening. That felt intrusive and irritating. I also regret not booking dinner there ahead of time. You need to let them know two days in advance, and nobody told us. It's quite far to find good places to eat nearby, so maybe next time.

If you're after somewhere to relax in France, this is the place. The hosts, Jacques & Corinne, went beyond what I expected and made the stay feel special. We enjoyed wine tasting with them, and you can buy local wines on site for good prices. Asking for a "table d'hotes" also gets you the chance to have amazing homemade food in the garden with great wine, a lovely way to enjoy Burgundy. The rooms are spacious, very clean, air conditioned, and face the pool. The saltwater pool was spotless and just the right temperature. Breakfast was typically French, with excellent croissants, baguette, and organic jam. One of the best places I've stayed in France.

We got to try some lovely Bourgogne wine from their own shop, and the breakfast was really tasty. Corine and Jacques gave us helpful tips for exploring the area. Our room was very clean, and the service was amazing. We had a great stay, thank you!
