Mercure Saint Omer Centre Gare

There’s secure parking at the back for just 12 euros, and the restaurant is fabulous and good value. We found the hotel lovely, with nicely decorated, very clean rooms and staff who were extremely friendly and helpful.

We arrived late and tired, and it was a relief to find the sofa bed already made up for our child. That doesn’t always happen at other hotels. The room was quiet and spotless, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great, and the seating areas were stylish and really comfortable. Looking forward to coming back.

A good location for the tunnel or ferry, and mostly very comfortable. The bedroom was too warm, though, and the air conditioning barely helped.

The breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice of food laid out beautifully. A nice touch for Brits who like tea in the morning was the selection of, I think, six tea caddies. You choose loose tea, put a scoop and a bit into the metal strainer that fits the cup, then add hot water and let it brew to the strength you want. We only stayed one night at Hotel Mercure St Omer, though we’d gladly have stayed longer. The room was a good size, clean, and had a comfortable double bed. The bathroom was roomy too, with a separate toilet. Staff were helpful, friendly and always smiling. We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel.
