Residhome Saint Ouen

We liked the neighborhood, and the front desk staff were friendly, but the room had serious problems. It was hot the whole time even with the heater off. We were on the 10th floor, so I understand heat rises, but the ventilation was poor and there was almost no airflow. The sewage smell never went away. We used a bath towel in the sink to try to contain it. It seemed like there was no pee trap under the sink to stop the gases coming up. There was black mold on the bathroom shower ceiling, and the shower wouldn't drain while we were using it. Water eventually went down, but we stood in it until we finished. The smoke detector was covered with toilet paper that had once been wet and hardened. We presumed a previous guest or guests had smoked in the room. We left one day before our booking ended. Priya asked why we were leaving and how the stay had been, so we told her about the problems. She got defensive and asked why we hadn't said anything sooner. We were shocked that they'd put us in that room. We had assumed the whole place smelled like sewage, so we didn't think moving to another room or floor would help. Why put guests in a room like that, then charge 419 euros? Deplorable. We won't return, and I hope people reconsider before spending their hard earned monies here. If you do stay and get a room this disgusting, tell the front desk so they can hopefully move you somewhere without black mold and a sewage smell, and don't act like you're the problem. The place didn't meet a BASIC standard room.
