Villa Mango's

My dog and I had such a lovely vacation in this studio in the west. The lagoon is less than a 2-minute walk away, and the place was well equipped and spotless. Both hostesses were charming and discreet. Thank you!

The parquet and marble floors give this big Creole house a lot of character. My family, friends and I had a wonderful stay, and the outdoor areas make you want to travel and relax. I love this place.

Less than 100m on foot from the lagoon, this dream villa is a fantastic place for a holiday. Corinne and Valérie are two incredible people and made us feel very welcome.

I finally found the quiet, comfortable, affordable place I’d been looking for over 15 years, between St. Gilles and St. Leu: Villa Mango's. I come to Reunion Island by myself each January or February to unwind and watch the underwater world while my men are busy. Last year I stayed in the little MANAPANY bungalow, and I’ve just had another wonderful three-week visit. I came home yesterday and already want to return for a third stay, alone or with family and friends. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves peace, Creole charm, snorkeling and a warm welcome. The lagoon is my favorite on the island, and I think it’s the best preserved. It’s protected by the coral reef and full of coral and colorful fish. You can spot them before even getting into the water: surgeonfish, nason fish, triggerfish, damselfish, Moorish idols, butterflyfish, coachfish, parrotfish, unicornfish, boxfish, pufferfish, groupers, purse seines, lionfish, wrasses and red mullet. I didn’t even find all of them at the beautiful aquarium in St. Gilles-les-Bains. There’s also an impressive surf spot beyond the reef at the lagoon’s end. PETIT TROU D'EAU BEACH is large, clean and peaceful, with no shops or street vendors. It’s usually uncrowded, apart from weekends when Reunion Islanders come by, because it isn’t mapped. I feel safe there, even alone in the mornings, and comfortable leaving my bag on the sand for hours while I snorkel with gear from the villa. The lagoon itself feels safe too, thanks to the protective reef. A little path reaches the beach 80 meters away, with no road to cross. The lagoons of Trou d'Eau and Saline-les-Bains are a 15-minute paddleboard trip or walk along the water. They have water sports, restaurants and bars with deckchairs. On the way you pass the Tropical Training Center of Reunion Island, where some surprising and hilarious scenes happen. The villa is 500 meters from a bakery and a good pizzeria that sells drinks and takeaway food, plus a bus stop with service to all parts of the island. The villa itself is a soothing, comfortable haven. It’s a beautiful Creole home with secure private parking, a lush garden and a large, perfectly maintained pool. All three accommodations have extensive indoor and outdoor amenities. Around the pool there are cozy shaded corners, including an open-air café with a big table and barbecue. Everything is tastefully decorated, indoors and out, with an exotic feel. From the first floor you can see the lagoon. The bedding is excellent, and blackout shutters and curtains make for restful sleep to the sound of the lagoon. CO, VAL, AND JES are the best of the best. They’re smiling, warm and caring, and go out of their way to make your holiday a dream. I felt at home right away. They’re discreet, attentive and available, and clearly care about guests’ comfort. They also want to share the island’s beauty and traditions, and show respect for the environment. The location is ideal for the weather and for exploring the island. I practice yoga and meditation here, and the place has such a convivial, peaceful feel. A couple of practical tips: order groceries online from a SCORE supermarket before leaving, then pick them up at the drive-thru when you arrive at the airport. If you live in the South of France, Air Austral has direct overnight flights from Marseille to Réunion. Villa Mango's deserves a 6/5. It’s a shame it gets ratings meant for other villas with the same name. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MAGICAL PLACE, which is as hard to leave as its wonderful hostesses, to anyone who won’t take "MY" bungalow in early 2021, 22, 23, etc. ;) A thousand kisses and thanks to Co, Val, and Jes!
