B&B HOTEL Saint-Pierre-en-Faucigny Bonneville

The bed was good and breakfast was fine, and the room itself was clean. But there was a nasty smell from the bathroom drain, which had no plug. The entrance door also looked damaged, as if someone had tried to kick it in. At night, light from the corridor came through, though thankfully there was another door. I wanted to make tea for medicine, but there was no kettle, so I couldn't.

The view is superb, and the rooms are roomy and clean. It was quiet enough to get some rest, which I really liked. I’d recommend the place, though the breakfast needs more variety. After 3-4 days, it gets boring.

We really enjoyed the next day, and the service was very good. The room was nice too. Compared with the other hotels we’d stayed in, this one was pretty good. I can’t think of anything bad to say, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay.

The hotel itself was fine, and the receptionist who eventually arrived was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great. The trouble came when I got there outside reception hours. Guests were meant to check in at a self-service machine, but it was out of order, with a notice in French and English asking people to press a button for help. My first call got no answer. On the second call, a woman told me to use the machine, apparently unaware it was broken. Once I explained, she said, “Reception opens at 5, you’ll just have to wait.” The receptionist arrived quite a while before 5 and apologized, saying that kind of response wasn't normal. The woman on the phone had an appalling, extremely careless attitude. I’ve encountered that attitude in France often.
