Logis Hotel La Bergerie

We were in the area for a wedding, and this hotel and restaurant had everything we needed: a great location, lovely rooms, and really nice people.

The staff were friendly, and the evening meal tasted excellent, though the menu was limited. We paid €47 for one starter, one main, and two glasses of wine. I can't comment on breakfast because we left early for a long drive, though I'm sure our host would have prepared something if we'd asked. Still, too many things about the accommodation were wrong for me to keep asking for hot water, tea bags, drinking water, working lights, cups, and toilet paper. Thankfully, we had a roll in our van. We were travelling from Spain back to the UK and stayed for one night. There was plenty of free parking, check-in was quick, and the room was clean, but it badly needs updating. The bathroom and toilet were separate, which didn't bother me, though it might bother others. The toilet tissue dispenser had only about five sheets in it. We couldn't get onto the Wi-Fi, despite being given the codes. There was no tea or coffee making setup or bottled water in the room, things I consider basic after a journey. We were told we could get tea or coffee in the breakfast room, but there were no cups, and the machine wouldn't dispense hot water anyway. The lights in that area didn't seem to work, so we used our phone lights to see what was there.

That was seriously the best steak I've had in months. We stopped for lunch while travelling from Languedoc to the Limousin, and the classic French cooking used excellent ingredients. The local wine list was great too. Definitely worth trying.
