The region itself is beautiful, but our stay was so upsetting that we drove the remaining 350-plus km home to sleep in our own beds. We’d booked a single night for Saturday, July 19th back in May. When we arrived around 6:30 pm in heavy rain, nobody came to greet us. After ten minutes, someone opened a window just enough to tell us to come inside. The room was dark, with barely any light from the ceiling fixture, and only about 15 square meters. It had single beds and no decorations. At the back there was a sink and a glimpse of a shower. A camping stove sat on a cupboard with curtains, apparently hiding dishes, alongside a refrigerator and microwave. There was no one around, and the place felt incredibly depressing. We left. I can’t recommend this kind of accommodation.

What stood out was the setting and the staff: discreet, professional, attentive, and clearly very qualified. My husband and I had a truly unique experience at La Réserve Genève, and everything about the place felt remarkable.

The room was roomy and had everything we needed, and you can buy fresh eggs and jam there, which are worth a look. We also got such a warm welcome. Harper, the Australian Shepherd mascot, really made our day.

Breakfast was very generous, and the location was quiet and peaceful. Our room was spacious and very clean, too. The owner welcomed us so warmly and was really friendly. We highly recommend this guesthouse.

Meals and breakfast use produce from the guesthouse or local ingredients, and Philippe, the host, is a real culinary artist. The guest rooms were spotlessly clean, and the setting is beautiful and green. The host was incredibly helpful and exceptionally kind. A superb guesthouse.
