The host gave me a very warm welcome, and the room was available at short notice. It's a handy base for visiting St Pierre, just 2 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from the center. I had a very pleasant stay and can recommend it.

We booked the Tulear for an unplanned weekend during the school holidays because it was the only hotel that had a room for us. It brought back memories of our time in Madagascar, and the welcome was friendly. The place was clean, but the facilities and overall standard were pretty basic: no top sheet, a battered ceiling fan that barely moved the air, and rustic bedding. That didn't ruin our weekend, since the rustic feel has its charm, but paying €90 a night left us feeling a bit ripped off. €45 would have seemed more reasonable 😉

We turned up at the agreed time, 6:30 PM, to check into the room we'd reserved, and found it occupied by a young couple with no luggage. What would anyone think in that situation? Leave.

Everything felt simple and clean, and we were comfortable there, just like at home. We spent three lovely nights at the residence. A big thank you to the owner for the warm welcome and cheerful atmosphere. We're already hoping to return!
