Gite Chez Coste Gilles

We had a fantastic 10 days at Sophie's, and the accommodation had everything laid out well, with a comfortable bed. Sophie was very accommodating: we asked the evening before for a guinea fowl for the next day, and it was perfect. Gwen, Pierre, and our dog Théo had a wonderful stay, and Théo even made friends with the goats. This beautiful place came up again in our conversation over Christmas dinner on Wednesday, December 24th, as we remembered our July 2025 stay. Highly recommended if you love farms and the countryside. Please support farmers during this difficult time for them.

The place is so quiet and restorative, just right for getting away from city life. There are flies, lizards and roosters, as you'd expect in the countryside, but the neighbors kept to themselves. The view is magnificent, and Sophie is warm, generous, and always available.

I had a good stay in Auvergne, and the scenery is magnificent. The cottage itself is nice, but the hygiene needs attention. There were dead flies in the bed I slept in and more underneath it, so the cottage should be checked for cleanliness before it’s lent out.

The farm animals all around made it feel like real nature, which was fantastic. My husband and I spent a week here surrounded by nature, with wonderful walks and pure bliss. The owners are incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive, and Sophie and her husband deserve a big thank you. The accommodation is very well laid out, with nothing missing, and we soon felt at home. No regrets at all, we’ll be back very soon, and we highly recommend it.
