The hotel’s reply is what left me most upset. After I realized I’d booked the wrong place, I asked Booking.com to cancel for me. They sent back a really rude message, ending with, “Be thankful you booked with us, you’ll only lose €45. If you had booked with another hotel, you’d lose more.” I’d chosen it by mistake because I thought it was in or near Lyon. I only needed somewhere for one night before my flight, and it was my first visit to France. The whole thing made for a very bad first impression.

For 30 euros, getting your own bathroom is hard to beat. The rooms are basic and the place felt a little run down and odd, and the bathroom had a bit of a smell. It's near Lyon.
