Premiere Classe Saint Quentin

For €11 per person, what can you say? The beds were clean, it was quiet, and there was plenty of parking. Getting in after hours was a bit of an adventure because the duty manager had locked himself out. The shower had the force of a jet engine, and the willy drawings underneath the top bunk were amusing.

It was clean and in the right place for our journey, but shabby and run down. The rooms are so tiny you couldn't swing a cat, and fitting three people into one that size is a real stretch. It's a basic motel.

The easy, cheap stay and all the security cameras were about the only good points. We had triple room 07, and it was hot and smelled of stale smoke. The floor was wet, the doorstep leaked, the sheets were stained and had random hairs, and the bed cover had holes. The taps were badly fitted, there were burn marks on the sinks, curly black pubic hairs on the floor, a bathroom door that wouldn't close, and squashed flies on the skirting boards. The reception guy was lovely, so full marks to him. I've stayed in plenty of Prem Class hotels and know what to expect, but this place badly needs freshening up. I'll avoid it in future.

The price was like that of a good hotel, but the conditions were awful. Our room was very dirty, the bathroom was a disaster, the bedding had cigarette burns, and the bed cover had strange dark stains. We found lots of live and dead insects. They advertised garage parking, and I said I wanted to use it, but there was no garage when we arrived. The staff couldn't speak English or even French. This place felt like something from a crime movie. They shouldn't be accepting guests. Avoid it.
