Cyclists will find some good riding here: quiet, decent roads with climbs mostly around 3-5% and a few stretches reaching 9%. We also loved how peaceful and comfortable the room was. The owners made us feel welcome and had plenty of suggestions for places to explore nearby. Breakfast on the terrace, looking over the pool and the surrounding landscape, was a lovely start to the day. And the view of the Château de Hautefort and the valley is breathtaking.

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and breakfast was unlike anything I’ve had before. What stands out most, though, is how warmly the owners welcomed us. This is a special place in a dreamlike setting, and I was really happy with our stay. If you’re heading to the Dordogne, I’d recommend it without hesitation. The owners’ hospitality may be the best you ever experience.

Saint Raphaël brings together the best of the Périgord: a lovely setting, kind people, and a generous breakfast overlooking Hautefort Castle. Thank you, Monique and Alain!
