Gites Piscine La Balancelle

We stayed from October 16th to 17th, 2025, for €76, including end-of-stay cleaning, tourist tax, and free private parking. The hosts were very friendly, the place was lovely and quiet, and the pool was heated to 25°C on October 15th. A few updates could be made, but it has charm. Breakfast isn't included.

The location is beautiful and pleasant, which makes it a shame this studio shouldn't be considered a holiday rental. “LE CATALIN” is absolutely one to avoid. The place was filthy, with damp, moldy walls, cracked floors throughout, a bad smell, dirty kitchen utensils and cutlery, and a dirty bathroom. There were no curtains on the bathroom window, which looks onto the neighbor's window. The bed linens looked like they were from the 1900s, and the sofa, wardrobe, and other furniture belonged at the dump. The exterior is neglected too, with broken pool coping and tiles. Unacceptable for a holiday rental.

The host was responsive and available, so we could enjoy the stay with complete peace of mind. We had a wonderful family holiday in this gîte in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, and everything worked well for six people. The beds were spacious, high quality, and very comfortable, so we all slept well. There was air conditioning throughout, plus plenty of fans to keep us cool. Having the pool right next to the gîte was a real treat, especially during the heatwave. We shared evening meals by the water and enjoyed family swims from morning until night. The barbecue area added to the convivial feel of the holiday. A huge thank you for a wonderful Provençal family getaway. We leave with lovely memories and will definitely return to this little corner of paradise! ☀️

The photos make this gîte look magnificent, and the pool is lovely, but once inside there was a very strong musty smell. The bathtub was clogged, and the floor, walls, bedding, and bathroom were filthy. It was dirty from floor to ceiling, and the furniture was in terrible condition. I had a terrible experience and strongly advise against staying here. Avoid it, especially if you have children.
