B&B HOTEL Le Mans Nord 2

We found the outside room doors and isolated setting concerning for the security of vulnerable travelers. We arrived at 8pm and had to check in at a machine outside because no staff were on site. We’d been sent instructions, but the process was still stressful and a hassle, and didn’t feel welcoming. The nearby highway junctions are tricky too. We made two simple navigation mistakes that cost us half an hour. On the plus side, the rooms were warm and functional, and there are good nearby food options, a supermarket, and petrol. It was also nice to see EV charging.

There was a very warm welcome when we arrived, and it’s still a great hotel with a good location and good value. It’s even better for EV drivers like me now, with a great selection of chargers at good prices. One snag, the credit card machine doesn’t take contactless payments from a phone, so you’ll probably need to insert your card. Great stay as usual.

Easy to book, good quality for the money, clean rooms, and comfy beds. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast. I’d be happy to recommend it to others.

The WiFi didn’t work during our stay, and the car park gate was left open overnight, which made me uneasy about the security of my car. I was already frustrated before we arrived: the online payment page kept giving an error, even after I tried several cards and PayPal. I had to book on arrival for seven euros more, and couldn’t use my loyalty account. For the price, I expected better. It didn’t match the standard of other places we’ve stayed in Laval and Saint-Malo. Looking back, I wish I’d booked the F1 across the street, which at least charged a price that suited the basic service. I wouldn’t stay here again.
