We had a lovely extended weekend here with my family and two other families. The house looks out over the village of Saint-Sauveur, with a beautiful sunset view. The weather was bizarre that weekend, but we still got to enjoy both the pool and, later, the fireplace in the huge living room.
The house has plenty of charm, with its manor-house feel and a welcoming, well-proportioned garden. Our overall impression stayed positive, though some things need attention. Half the living room chairs and the sofa were extremely uncomfortable, and so was the bedding, especially in the dormitory-style room we used. The old toaster was broken, and the pool my grandson had hoped to use was unusable, with green, cloudy water and an unbearable chlorine smell. We had mild, fairly sunny weather in early October, so we could enjoy being outdoors. The village was lively during the arts and crafts festival, and we were very interested to visit Colette's house and Guédelon Castle.
The bedrooms are spacious and have en-suite bathrooms, and shops are close by. The owners communicated very well, and the house itself is beautiful and well equipped. The grounds have a pool, foosball and ping-pong tables, and a volleyball court. A pétanque court would be a nice addition. All positives, and I highly recommend it.
A lovely, peaceful setting for this exceptional Burgundy holiday cottage. There's a swimming pool, and shops are nearby.
Just perfect.
