L'Albatros

We had a wonderful summer holiday at this small hotel and really enjoyed the excellent food and service. Thank you!

This feels more like a restaurant that also has rooms. It had opened only three months earlier when we visited, and the food was excellent, fine dining, and not cheap. The beachside location is excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very popular and full again the second evening. There was a wedding party in the dining room during our stay, though, which spoiled what we expected to be a romantic evening with the noise. We ate out the next night instead, since there are plenty of good bars a 15-minute walk away. On returning, we couldn't find parking because restaurant guests had taken the spaces. If the weather isn't sunny and warm, there's no lounge to sit in, so I'd recommend booking a room with a patio for some private outdoor space. The room was comfortable, with air conditioning, water, and a large double bed, probably queen size. One side of the bed was too close to the wall and it couldn't be moved.

The restaurant is popular enough that booking well ahead is a good idea. When we arrived, cars filled the car park and garden, and we were lucky to get a table after agreeing to wait. It was worth it. The food was delicious, if pricey, with some of the best fresh seafood I've had. Try the Mouclade or sea bass, or really anything. The hotel's position is hard to beat. At the end of a residential street, away from the busy center, it sits in a pretty garden right by the sea. At breakfast you almost wonder if the tide will reach your toes. You can walk along the sandy shore or through the forest, both lovely. The rooms are a bit small and prices a bit steep, though that's to be expected in high season on a lovely island.

A lovely place to eat, drink, and enjoy yourself. The food is excellent, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is cool. Great spot by the sea.
