We phoned at 11pm and booked for that same night. They stayed up until we arrived after the drive from Calais, just over an hour away. My French is very poor, but they were so welcoming. Wonderful customer service, and it's dog friendly too. I'd recommend it.

The staff were really nice, and the hotel is in the heart of beautiful St Valérie sur Somme. Pointe du Hourdel is 10 minutes away, and Parc de la baie de Somme is about 25-30 minutes away by car. If you love wildlife, especially seals and birds, natural places, and medieval architecture, this is for you. The downside is the lack of food for people with celiac disease or other allergies. The breakfast buffet had nothing suitable, although the staff kindly offered me coffee. I had to buy my own food at a nearby Carrefour Market. In my view, allergy management in France generally lags well behind many neighboring countries and other places, even though food allergies are common. France takes great pride in its gastronomy, and I think that pride partly explains why the food experience for travelers with allergies falls short of expectations. There's a small, fairly cheap car park for the night, and the hotel gives guests a discount.
