Caday Rouge

The ride through Southwest France was at a really good pace, with spectacular roads and plenty of historic places and sights along the way. Trevor guided the tour superbly. We stayed at their Chateau, where the accommodation was excellent, and Patsy and Trevor were great hosts. I was travelling with another guest who was Vegan, and Patsy and Trev easily accommodated both of our needs. It was an amazing 8 day trip, and I can’t wait to come back.

The whole trip was so well organized, and I’d happily ride with CRMT again. The three days in the Pyrenees were a highlight, especially staying in beautiful Luz-Saint-Sauveur, where our hotel room had a spectacular view. Each evening we ate at a different restaurant, and the meals were excellent, just like the lunches at the various stops. The scenery throughout was spectacular. I wasn’t sure how a week of riding with strangers would go, but we had a great group and everyone clicked. There were plenty of breaks for coffee and a rest, so the distance wasn’t a problem. The new, low mileage BMWs were comfortable all day, including for my wife riding pillion. Caday Rouge was clean and comfortable, with a refreshing pool and home cooked meals. We did the little Pyrenees tour, and the roads were the best I’ve ever ridden.

The daily ride-outs were well organized and kept to a good pace, and Patsy and Trev know all the best places to visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the South West France Tour with CRMT. My room was just right, the food was lovely, and Patsy and Trev were super hosts. I may well go again next year.

The quiet country roads made this tour such a great backroads adventure. We rode through farmland and ancient villages, along the deep Gorges of the Tarn and through the Valleys of the Dordogne. There were hardly any cars, though we did occasionally come across farm vehicles. Trevor and Patsy Gingell guided small groups of up to six, or maybe seven guests, and both ride like the wind. I signed up with Caday-Rouge Moto Tours last June and had a dream-like week on two wheels in the beautiful Massif Central region of South-Central France. The British expat couple run the whole package from their French villa near Saint Vite in the Lot-et-Garrone. They have current-year BMWs from 800 to 1300 cc, plus several Hondas and Kawasakis in the 500 to 650cc range. It was such an outstanding tour that I wanted to spread the word to experienced riders who’d enjoy this kind of backroads adventure, and encourage them to get in touch with Trevor and Patsy and sign up.
