We arrived in the evening to an owner who seemed grumpy and a bit stressed. The atmosphere felt cold, and the place itself was freezing. They lit a fire for a fairly ordinary dinner, but it couldn't warm a house that large. Our room was tiny, some lights didn't work properly, the toilet flush was broken, and the bath tap was so small it barely counted as a bath. Breakfast was served without a plate! There's a lot they need to learn if they want to meet the standards they're charging for.

We had such a magical stay at Les Vagabonds. Even though we arrived early for check-in, Matthew greeted us warmly. After days of cycling and camping, our clean, nicely decorated room was a really comfortable place to rest. Dinner in the peaceful courtyard was superb, and breakfast the next morning was just as good, made with fresh local ingredients. We also loved meeting the owners and hearing about the building's story. We hope to return one day.

Matthew was a great host and made our stay fabulous. The rooms were comfortable, and we enjoyed the evening meal there. The one local bar and restaurant also looked good as an option. Breakfast was lovely on the morning we left. The town is beautiful to wander around, and there's great hiking nearby. Recommended!

We spent Friday to Sunday at Vagabonds du Mond during our tour of France, and the stay exceeded all expectations. After a few Alpine cities, the peaceful village of Chichilliane was a welcome break from the bustle. Danielle greeted us so warmly. The owners' pride in their region and its produce came through in the informal, homemade meals. We loved the fresh bread, local yoghurts and honey at breakfast, along with the local beers and biodynamic wines. The picnic for our hike around Mont Aiguille was excellent too, with tasty sandwiches, pasta salad, fruit, and a soft drink. The property was charming and spacious, and we especially enjoyed relaxing, reading, and having dinner in the courtyard. There was the option to eat indoors in cold or bad weather, but we didn't need it. Our room was well equipped, though a little dated. That didn't bother us and added to its charm, with a feeling of escaping to a gentler time. For a restful break in a quiet village surrounded by incredible nature, this is a lovely place. The caring hosts welcomed us warmly, gave us a comfortable room, and served delicious meals. We loved the pretty patio and beautiful nature around it. Just remember that cards aren't accepted. The nearest ATM is in a town about a 10-minute drive away.
