The hosts were so welcoming and helpful, with great tips for seeing the area. Everything felt easy and relaxed. The gîte was clean, well cared for, and equipped with what we needed, and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. A peaceful spot to unwind and enjoy the region.

The breakfast was poor, with overbaked chocolate croissants, and the pool was much smaller than it looked in the photos. The pétanque court was meant to be there, but it was unusable. There was also a leak in the toilet. The rules were absurdly strict: no flushing between 11 pm and 7:30 am, no showering during those hours, no kitchen use before 6 pm, and no turning the shower on “too strong.” The welcome was terrible, with rules for everything. The owners said they wanted to sell the place and seem to have given up on it. That doesn't justify passing the burden on to guests. I was extremely disappointed and hope others stay away for their own health.

Breakfast under the shade of the beautiful mulberry trees was a highlight: fresh bread, homemade jams, and a pain au chocolat from the baker each morning. We usually only have coffee, so it felt like a real treat. The pool was lovely and well maintained, with little loungers for catching the sun, and the kitchen was well equipped and open to guests. We stayed five nights. The rooms were fantastic, with clean private bathrooms and toilets, and air conditioning, which mattered in the heat. Catherine and Jean-Jacques were kind, welcoming, and dedicated to hosting. Our daughters said, and I quote, it was the best vacation of their lives, thanks in part to the amazing pool. The swimming pool was the one good part. The rest of our stay felt humiliating and dangerous, and I wouldn't recommend this guesthouse. When we arrived, the owner accused us of having “broken the door,” though it was already in poor shape. Later, we were yelled at over a little water left on the dishes. A bathroom leak was blamed on us, even though my mother fell because of it. There was no apology, just a claim that we had used too much water. The floorboards are rotten, or perhaps it was a leak, but even if it had been our fault, they could at least have checked the next day to see if she was all right. The rooms are poorly maintained, the setting is mediocre, and the managers came across as haughty and aggressive. They seem to scrutinize every detail to pin blame on guests, while the place itself is falling into ruin. The neglected safety is a real danger, and the pool can't make up for the unsanitary conditions and lack of courtesy. Other reviews mention similar problems. Instead of fixing things, the owners spend their time replying to criticism to “save their image.” Repairs are needed, not lies.
