La Residence du Moulin

The apartment on the ground floor was spacious, clean, and pleasant, with roomy bedrooms and comfortable beds. We had a wonderful stay, and the pool was magical in such an unusual setting. The view of the mill was lovely, with little waterfalls in the distance. Since the mill is an old building, it makes sense that some woodwork shifts over time. That was true of the cupboards and the boards around the pool, as earlier reviews have mentioned, but it didn't bother us at all during our stay. We felt very comfortable there, recommend the place, and will probably come back.

On a school trip, I found mold in both the room and the showers. Every electrical outlet was broken, and after it rained overnight, water came through the roof and dripped from the ceiling while we were eating. There were food scraps on the hallway and bedroom floors too. I won't come back.

The owner was discreet and very welcoming, and the place's distinctive character won us over. Our three-bedroom apartment had lots of space, and the service was excellent. We'll come back on our next trips to Troyes, and next time we'd like to go kayaking.

At 200 euros a night, I think this is a rip-off. The place badly needs maintenance: some pool tiles are held on with silicone and others are missing, the windows and apartment itself don't close, and the apartment doors either stick or won't shut. Apparently, a so-called Englishman left with the keys. Sockets wobble and come loose when you unplug something; the kitchen cabinets wobble too. The bedroom laminate is completely dislodged, and the pool decking isn't secured properly. There's no ventilation system, the bathroom mirrors are broken and patched with pieces of floorboards, and the shower leaks and wobbles. Pool maintenance products are stored out in the open in the bathroom. The apartment is full of spiders, and the outside looks like a dump. It's a shame to have a place like this and not maintain it.
