B&B HOTEL SAINTE MAXIME Golfe de St Tropez (4628)

This works for a couple of nights if you just need somewhere to sleep. It’s a budget hotel with a modern look, about five minutes from S. Maxime by car, but it isn’t in the town center and there’s no romantic view to expect. The rooms are clean and fairly comfortable, though very small. The bathroom is tiny, and without a wardrobe or drawers I wouldn’t want to stay longer. We skipped breakfast. The corridors, room doors, elevator and shared areas all feel busy, with people coming and going. Nothing fancy.

After I paid the full amount through booking.com, the hotel refused to give me a room, claiming they hadn’t received the money even though I had the booking.com payment receipt with me. The staff were incompetent and the hotel acted irresponsibly. This feels like a scam, and they have no business being in the hotel business.

The breakfast was decent, though pricey for the number of choices, and there was plenty of parking. You really need a car here: it’s a 15-minute drive from St. Maxime center and definitely not somewhere I’d recommend walking from at night. The rooms were very clean and well equipped, as BnB’s hotels usually are, and reception staff were polite and helpful. But on checkout day, a cleaning staff member behaved badly and gave us the wrong checkout time, which seemed to come from discrimination. Compared with the other BnB’s on our trip, we liked this one less overall.

I had to pay again to make a new booking after the reception said my original reservation was no longer valid because I hadn’t arrived on the 2nd. I’d booked from 2-7, but my plane was late and I got there the morning of the 3rd. I’d paid for five days, so why should it matter when I arrived? booking ka booking only charged me for four days, since I missed one, and I hadn’t stayed there at all. This is the worst, filthiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I’ll tell everyone about it.
