Hv Tel Lou Paouvadou

For one night, this was a good-value, no-frills place near the centre of St. Maxime. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean, which was what mattered to me. Breakfast was the usual French spread: baguette, croissant, cheese, butter, and jam.

We stayed for two weeks, with one room for two and two rooms for three. The host was friendly, but when we asked about a later checkout on our last day, we were offered only one extra hour. A family member had needed emergency care and could no longer walk by herself. We felt more flexibility was reasonable in the circumstances, especially given the high price and that two identical ground-floor rooms were empty. The reason given was that the room needed four hours of cleaning before the next guests arrived. The rooms were very basic, a bit dated, and had no luxury touches. They were clean when we arrived, but there was no cleaning during the stay. The bed, sofa bed, and air conditioning were good. The bathroom was tiny, with the shower tucked under the stairs. That’s why we gave it two stars.

Breakfast was excellent and brought to the room. The service was polite and professional, and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. A charming, comfortable hotel, highly recommended.

The people were nice, the pool was pleasant, and the hotel wasn’t too expensive. My room did get a little too hot, though.
