Mister Bed Troyes

We’d booked ahead because the place said it had a machine for collecting keys after hours. When we arrived, it wasn’t switched on, so there was no way to get in. Our small children were asleep in the car, and we ended up searching for somewhere else to stay in the middle of the night. They wouldn’t even consider a refund. I’d say don’t book here just to save £10. Ibis Budget is better in every respect.

The staff were pretty friendly, though the rooms are a bit small. The shower was compact but clean, and I had a spider sharing my room too. “Mister spider in Mister bed” was a very nice bloke, so I was happy to share with him.

It does the job if you need a cheap place to stay. It’s not especially pretty, and it’s a long way from the city center, so you’d need to be okay with the location and fewer comforts. For a budget hotel, it could be a good option.

We found a lighter in the bed, which made it seem like the sheets hadn’t been changed. The place was very unclean, and it was really noisy from a nearby nightclub and the thin walls.
