La Bastide Blanche Residence Saintes-maries-de-la-mer

The staff made the stay feel so easy. Everyone was warm and helpful, answered our boys' endless questions, and even let us linger over a late breakfast, sorry! The restaurant had a delicious variety, and the pool was a nice temperature for a swim morning or evening. We were there for three nights in mid August, a family of four with boys aged 6 and 8. The room was just right, with the boys having their own space upstairs. The wood furniture and decorations made everything feel peaceful and natural. We travel a lot in summer and stay at plenty of hotels, but this was such a relaxing experience from start to finish. Thank you!

The location is great, with an easy walk to the beach or town, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. But we didn't find it especially suited to a small child. The pool sits in the middle of the hotel, with rooms and the restaurant right beside it, so it felt hard to enjoy it noisily with our kid without bothering people who were eating. Our room for three had a very odd layout. There were two small bathrooms, which seemed unnecessary, and hardly any clothing storage, especially for three people. The desk was crowded with too many things to be practical. The single bed was tiny and felt suitable only for a child able to sleep up high without falling out. There is enough space for a nice room, but the bathroom, toilet, and desk areas are divided poorly.

A spacious room with everything we needed, and the amenities were replenished regularly. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Great spot too, just a short walk from the beach and restaurants.

We found Vila de Mar after spending two nights at a neighborhood hotel that left us needing to recover from the experience. Booking here paid off: we got a comfortable room with a private terrace, two bathrooms, and such good amenities that it felt like a five star hotel in the village. The staff were genuinely kind, the restaurant served delicious food from a simple but effective menu, and the spa is a good option while you're there.
