Francois and Guylene were lovely hosts, with great suggestions for things to do in the region. I spent a night in the beautifully decorated "Gabarre" room, which faced a very quiet street and was within walking distance of downtown Saumur. The bed was comfortable and the modern full bathroom was spotless. Breakfast on their porch, overlooking the lovely private garden, was the cherry on top. I'd definitely visit again on my next trip to France.

Cycling the Loire-a-velo, I arrived to find that Francois and Gulene had waited for my baggage, which came ahead of me, and made room for my bicycle. They even invited me to join their neighbours in the garden for delicious homemade Reunion punch, then Francois drove me to the train station when I left. Beforehand, their email replies had been prompt, courteous, and informative. The hosts were kind, attentive, and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The spacious house and room exceeded my expectations, with a very large newly refurbished bathroom beside a walk-in closet. The room had comfortable, historic antique furniture, a lovely scriptoire, luxurious rugs, and excellent wifi. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade jam and cake, fresh bread, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, and more. The genuine, thoughtful service made this much better than any hotel. I only wish I could have stayed longer.

The hosts go out of their way for you. It's a beautiful old house, with huge high-ceilinged rooms and modern facilities. Such charming hosts.

We stayed here with colleagues for two nights during the Anjou Vélo Vintage cycling event. It's an excellent spot within walking distance of the town center. The hosts were warm, friendly, and welcoming, and the clean, bright, spacious rooms were a lovely place to unwind after a busy day. I highly recommend staying here.
