La Belle Etoile

The house has a lot of charm, with a terrace looking over a lovely garden, and our room was spacious and comfortable. The owner welcomed us warmly and shared all the information we needed about the town. We stayed one night at this bed and breakfast, and the breakfast was delicious. A very inspiring place.

Laurence welcomed us to this magical place. She’s dynamic, smiling, and professional. I recommend La Belle Etoile 100%.

Laurence Dune gave us such a kind welcome, with that bright smile. She loves sharing what she knows about Saintes, plants, art, and exchanging skills and ideas. The Romanesque vaults make the place enchanting, and there are books to discover throughout. I first visited in July with a friend. We had delicious chocolate and zucchini cake, fruit sorbets that really tasted of the fruit, and herbal syrups. A week later I came back for dinner with 20 people on the magnificent terrace. The table was beautifully decorated, and we got to try a Syrian dish and dessert among charming company, with a tasting demonstration by Delphine Etourneau. The guest rooms are spacious, superb, and tastefully decorated. There’s a piano too, and one afternoon Eric Antoni gave an impromptu concert. We had a wonderful time. A huge THANK YOU to Laurence for such a warm welcome!

Laurence makes you feel at home from the moment she welcomes you, and her two cats are adorable. I especially loved the tea room, the spiced hot chocolate, and the pastry with thyme jam. La Belle Etoile has spacious guest rooms, a terrace, and a fragrant garden. The setting is lovely, and clearly made for living and sharing, with artistic creations, local products, and wellness activities like sophrology, yoga, Pilates, energy healing, and workshops with thread. What a lovely surprise. I highly recommend it, don’t hesitate!
