The terrace is pleasant and the view is decent, and they keep the place clean. There’s a small parking lot nearby and another one not far away that’s larger, though from here it’s a decent walk to the castle. It’s nice to stop for a drink, but the food was average and uninspired, and the service could use a smile. The menu is limited, with a daily special. Go if you’re hungry, since there aren’t many alternatives apart from a pizzeria. Note: access is by stairs, so it isn’t wheelchair friendly.

This was my second visit, and the food is excellent. It’s good value, and the couple are very nice. With the new patronage, it’ll take a while for the place to develop an atmosphere.

The chicken Caesar salad was superb and easily big enough for the four of us to share, with bacon, chicken, croutons, tomatoes, fresh greens, and a great dressing. We knew it wasn’t a true Caesar when we ordered it. The plat du jour was, I believe, veal, and it was quite good. We also enjoyed carafes of the house white and red wines. We all left happy after a very nice lunch following our visit to the castle in town.

We had the homemade pizzas and they were delicious. The restaurant has a lovely setting beside the Castle in Saissac, and the staff were friendly and spoke both French and English. The locally sourced house wines were excellent too, as was the ice cream. Can’t wait to come back.
