Domaine Du Pont De L'eyre

The family who runs the place are helpful, friendly, and have great big smiles. The rooms are quite large, but the hotel itself needs a lot of TLC. They should air the rooms out so the beds don’t feel damp when you first get in. It was a bit chilly, and I would’ve liked the option to turn on the heating. Having the bathroom and toilet in separate rooms was a little weird, but not the worst part. The reception area by the entrance isn’t staffed, so you have to go through the restaurant to find someone to check you in or out. I gave it 3 stars because it’s family-owned and the people were helpful and friendly. I wouldn’t stay there again, but each to their own.

Traveling with a dog? This is a dog-friendly hotel. After a long drive, you can walk your four-legged friend beside the river in the forest across the bridge, starting about 3 minutes from the entrance. I also recommend having dinner here. A great Dutch chef makes magnificent dishes with wonderful flavors. The fresh oysters were great as a starter, and the duck was prepared as requested. The chef’s spouse gave pleasant wine advice, making for a cozy, relaxed dinner.

The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, and we had a pleasant holiday at the Domaine. The hotel is cozy, with large rooms, and the restaurant serves wonderful meals on its terrace. Parking on site is free, and there’s a supermarket nearby that closes at 8 in the evening. The air conditioning didn’t work, which needs fixing because it can get really hot in the evening. We couldn’t sleep with the windows open since the road is so close.

We were only passing through and spent one night. The room was clean and comfortable, just right for a good rest. The staff were very friendly, and it was quite cheap for a room for 3 people. There’s a nice bar and a beautiful garden, and the hotel is very close to a river and a natural park. I recommend it.
