Garrigae Abbaye de Sainte Croix

The setting in an old Abbey is charming, with a great view and lovely staff. My husband and I would consider returning, but for a 4-star hotel there were several things that need attention. We stayed five nights, and two of the three sockets in our room never worked, even though we hoped someone might come fix them. The hair dryer was broken and had to be held together with tape, luckily I had some with me. There was a big patch of tissue fluff stuck to the bed linen, and the tea towel in the room had black marks on it. Several pool loungers were broken as well. It was my husband's 50th birthday, so at check-in I asked about a celebration. They said they could arrange a cake. We had it on our last day, then learned it would be added to the bill. It cost 15 Euros and tasted delicious, but after five nights, a complimentary birthday touch would have been appreciated.

We spent a few days here just after Easter and felt very welcome, including our dog. They had even put a water bowl in the room for him. The staff were kind, and we were comfortable throughout. The former abbey is beautifully turned into a hotel and surrounded by nature. There are several little paths starting right at the property, which we walked along in the mornings and evenings. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was excellent. The pool wasn't open during our visit, so we'd love to return in season and enjoy it. Highly recommended!

The food was delicious and presented beautifully, and the staff were friendly and knew their stuff, especially Eugenie. Set in a restored Abbey, the hotel is full of charm and looks out over Provence, with wonderful views from its windows and overlooks. It felt absolutely magical. It would make a magnificent wedding venue.

We thought the restaurant was one of the best places we ate, and the prices were very reasonable. The hotel itself was great value, with a magnificent view.
