Breakfast was fine, but there was no soap in the bathroom when we arrived. The extra bed couldn't be used because two slats in the middle of its frame were broken. We only noticed just before bed, and didn't contact reception since, after our earlier communication, sorting it out seemed likely to take a long time and might not work. Our child slept in our bed instead, but there wasn't much room, so it was an uncomfortable night. The staff spoke broken English, although many guests were from abroad. We can’t say they didn’t try, but as returning customers in the Accor network (Accor Services), we expect a certain level of language skill, especially in English, these days.

The rooms are very small and not well maintained. The carpet on the second floor was dirty and stained. If you stay here, try for a ground floor room, as those seem cleaner or renovated.

I keep coming back partly because the reception staff are pleasant, but the restaurant manager and chef seem to struggle under stress. Check whether a visiting group is expected for dinner, since the restaurant will then be closed to other guests. On this second visit to the Ibis, our double room felt rather small for two adults and two small dogs. The shower and aircon both need an urgent update.
