There was a Samoyed at reception called Nuance, and he was happy to get some attention. The people who seemed to be a couple running the desk were a mixed experience: she was friendly enough, while he came across as unfriendly and didn’t speak good English. To be fair, his English was probably better than my French.

We loved waking up to the beautiful view from our room and left the curtains open to enjoy it as much as possible. The owners were so kind, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast kept us going for most of the day, and the place was perfect for our summer holiday. Thanks for a lovely stay. Mr. and Mrs. Senners

The hotel itself is really nice, and the staff we dealt with were friendly. Unfortunately, the man at reception, who I think is the owner, made the stay much less pleasant. When we arrived, he insisted there was no booking. After checking twice, he still hadn’t found it, so I wrote my name on a piece of paper and then he located it. We got there at 11am, though check-in was at 3pm, and he was indignant about it. We weren’t expecting a room early, just somewhere to leave our luggage. He said there was nowhere, since reception and the restaurant were closing in 20 minutes. His wife stepped in and offered to store the bags in one of the rooms. Later, when we couldn’t find one of the three room keys, she tried to help us look in the bedrooms, but he said a replacement would cost €50. I understand charging for a lost key, but that seemed excessive for a small key on a little wooden keyring. There were a few minor room problems too. We initially didn’t have bath towels, though another staff member brought them later without any fuss. In all three rooms, some lights weren’t working, either bedside lamps or the main lights. The hallway lights also switch off automatically after a few seconds. You need to tell them by 6pm if you want breakfast the next day. That’s quirky, but fair enough for a small hotel. The restaurant customers seemed happy and the staff were friendly, but after our reception experience we chose not to eat there. If there’s nowhere else available, it’s a nice hotel. It’s a shame about the attitude at reception. If you want to meet the French Basil Fawlty, I’d recommend it.

HORRIBLE. After arriving from the airport at 19:45 instead of 19:00, we found that the receptionist had cancelled our two-night reservation without warning. There was no alternative accommodation offered. When I called the next day, I was told to sort it out with Booking, but the hotel guy had apparently made all the rooms unavailable. He was really unpleasant on the phone. It’s a real shame to treat foreign tourists this way. Nobody deserves that.

NEVER STAY HERE. We arrived 30 minutes late and couldn’t get them to answer the phone. We were left with nowhere to stay, and found out they’d sold our room to someone else. To make it worse, they didn’t refund us. Just awful. I hope they issue a refund and will update this if they do. Don’t trust this company.
